I have heard the guys on the CNBC Show, Fast Money, make reference to Hoyle(Not sure of spelling). They seem to mention it as a reference, “According to Hoyle” or “if you go by what hoyle says”. I have heard them make reference to this “Hoyle” a few times and would greatly like to know what it is. Your time and efforts are greatly appreciated.

“According to Hoyle” is a phrase in reference to Edmond Hoyle who systemized rules for card games. I interpret the saying to mean “according to the playbook” (this is what we would expect).
